Drawing Techniques


Biro and oil pastel still life observations of a skeleton. I especially like the effect of the mixed black and blue biro to give a distorted texture but also a smooth gradient.




Illustrations from primary source photos to link in with my anti-ketamine subject mentioned before, using coffee, watercolour, fineliner and pencil.


Biro illustration (right) and double monoprint (left) for use as a setting for an anti-ketamine campaign. The scratchy and distressed texture is just what I was looking for.


Ink/biro illustration for use in a project brief where I was asked to design a poster to entice young people to study in Manchester. The simple and lively colour scheme gives a positive look to an otherwise mundane part of Manchester (below).
